Antoine Jolicoeur Desroches is a professional triathlete from Montreal, Canada who competes in Half Ironman races around the world.

Antoine was competing as a cross-country skier when he took up triathlons to get in shape for the ski season. He trained for both sports before deciding to focus entirely on triathlons. While competing on the International Triathlon Union (ITU) circuit, he had to miss most of a racing season due to a minor injury. This gave him time to reflect on whether to continue competing as an ITU athlete or give non-drafting racing a shot. He decided to compete at Ironman 70.3 Muskoka and won his age group and placed sixth overall. This led to his decision to compete as a pro, and he became one of Canada’s youngest professional triathletes.

Today Antoine writes for triathlon websites and fitness magazines. He also authors a blog about his training and racing travels and has a variety of corporate sponsors. He trains as often as three or four times a day, favoring trail running.

Antoine is passionate about sports and nutrition, studying food and nutritional sciences at McGill University. Avegan and self-proclaimed foodie, Antoine likes to cook and try new healthy recipes. He eats healthy, plant-based foods like quinoa, kale, and rice and beans but also enjoys indulgences such as dark chocolate and coffee.

"Liquid I.V. has helped me perform significantly better in warmer climates."

How has Liquid I.V. changed your training regimen?
I spend my winter’s training in the cold in Montreal which can sometimes make it difficult for me to perform well in warm countries, like Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Since I discovered Liquid I.V., I can hydrate properly during races and also the weeks leading to the race. Liquid I.V. has helped me perform significantly better in warmer climates.

Other than training, how do you incorporate Liquid I.V. into your daily routine?

I use Liquid I.V. when I’m travelling and throughout the day to stay well hydrated between workouts. I also love the taste of it in smoothies, vegan banana ice cream and raw fruit wraps.

How does Liquid I.V. differ from other hydration products you’ve tried?

I’ve struggled with stomach cramps during races when taking other hydration products. That has not been the case with Liquid I.V. It doesn’t contain preservatives or any artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors which makes it easily digestible for me.
