Brian Rowe is a professional soccer player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer. While growing up in Oregon, Brian played a variety of sports including soccer, football, baseball and basketball, but it was at the age of 5 that he knew soccer was his favorite. It was the challenge, quick pace and flow of the game that made Brian passionate about soccer.
Fast forward a few years, Brian accepted a soccer scholarship at the University of California, Los Angeles. During his five seasons as a Bruin, he played as the starting goalie in his last two seasons and made his way to the Final Four ranking in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer tournament. After college, Brian went on to become the pool goalkeeper in Major League Soccer before signing with the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2012.
After many hours of intense training, traveling and competition, Brian and the rest of the LA Galaxy team were named the Major League Soccer Cup Champions in 2012 and again in 2014. Now in his sixth season with the team, Brian feels incredibly fortunate to be in the position he’s in and is working hard to earn his third Championship title.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me, I’m up at 6:30am to make breakfast and I’ll also have a Liquid I.V. to get my hydration started for the day. I’m into the stadium around 8am to warm up, stretch and do whatever other work I have before training. We’re out on field training from 10am until 12pm. After training, we’re back inside to do weights depending on the day, roll out, stretch then finish with an ice bath. We have lunch at the stadium and I’ll drink another Liquid I.V. to hydrate and replenish the fluids I’ve lost.
What inspires you every day?
What inspires me is the opportunity to compete and play a sport that I love everyday. I’m lucky that my passion also happens to be my career. I know I am very fortunate to be where I am and to do what I do. This inspires me everyday to work hard and make the most of this opportunity while I still have it.
How has Liquid I.V. changed your training regimen/performance?
