LIV Travel Series Part 2: Optimize Your Flight to LIV Your Best Life on Vacation

In the first part of our travel series, we discussed what to pack for a stress-free flight. Now, we’re back with some tips on actions to take in-flight to feel your best on all your adventures!

Whether you’re flying to the beaches of Maui, the forests of Costa Rica or the concrete jungle of New York City, the process of boarding, flying, Uber-ing, and settling into your destination can be hard on the body. The dry air in the airplane, dirty handles in taxis and public bathrooms, and of course, the infamous jet lag, can prime you for illness and exhaustion before your trip has even started. Luckily, we here at Liquid I.V. are advocates for travel health, and we want to make sure you get off the plane ready to vacation hard.

Hydration Allocation

Airplanes are notoriously dry, and dehydration can exacerbate jet lag and make you susceptible to illness. That’s where Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier comes in. We recommend rehydrating with LIV once for every two hours on the plane. (Trust us, with less than 20% humidity on the average airplane, you’ll need all the help you can get!)

But the hydration shouldn’t stop once you’re off the plane. Traveling compromises your immune system big time, and the hydration and vitamins in Liquid I.V. can be an added wellness boost every day of your trip. Pack one Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier for each morning and drink it alongside your coffee at the breakfast buffet!

Get Your Blood Pumping

Cramming your body into a seat clearly meant for a house elf can be taxing on your muscles, causing tension, discomfort, and leg cramps. Take time to do some seated exercises, especially if you’re on a long-haul flight. Your lower extremities are the most at risk for blood-pooling, so focus on working your legs—especially your calves. Do some foot rolls, stand up on tiptoe, or squeeze your knees into your chest one at a time to get the blood flowing. You can also try taking a stroll or stretching a bit in the walkway. Just try to be discreet—no one appreciates the guy loudly counting jumping jacks in the middle of the aisle.

De-Germ

You’re peacefully gliding through the friendly skies fantasizing about a Mai Tai and the ocean breeze, a rom com on your TV screen and a full cup of Liquid I.V. in your hand, when suddenly you let out a noisy sneeze that shakes the entire cabin. Oh no.

Nothing ruins a vacation like the sniffles, and planes, trains and automobiles are breeding grounds for germs and disease. Pack some hand sanitizer to slather on before you eat, and make sure to wash your hands frequently. A healthy dose of Vitamin C is also essential, and luckily, Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier contains more of it than an orange. Grab that flimsy plastic airline cup and drink up!

Set Yourself Up for Sleep

Expert travelers know the magic trick: keep track of the local time at your destination and sleep on the plane during your destination’s nighttime hours. In other words, figure out when 9 or 10 PM hits at your destination, and make that your in-flight bedtime.

Very few of us can fall asleep on command, so for this trick to work, you’ll need some natural, drug-free sleep assistance. Liquid I.V. Sleep is a necessary carry-on item to get your body on schedule.

Simply pour our breakthrough nighttime drink mix into 8 ounces of water and watch as your eyelids get heavier and heavier. Next thing you know, you’ll be waking up on the tarmac refreshed and ready to play!

A great vacation is all about setting your body up for success, and a little preparation goes a long way toward maximizing your vacay enjoyment. Try our awesome airplane hacks and let us know how they worked in the comments below!
